I recently purchased a real beat up one -
and I am going to get her cleaned up (respectfully looking)
    and working again
and was wonder if any body else in my area is interested in getting together

    Hey Tom,

I have a handful of tractors, way too many parts, and love talking about Elec- Work in Albany and live just outside of Cobleskill.
    Thanks,

    Hi Tom,

I'm in Stephentown in Eastern Rensselaer county and work in downtown albany. There's quite a few elec-trak enthusiasts (trakies?) in the capital district.

Always interested in talking e-traks and seeing other tractors in the area.

    Here's my e-mail - treeguy@taconic.net

just updated my password and it looks like I am on board again
Does anyone have any date related to the main drive motor
I have a broken cracked magnet in the main drive
I was talking to grainers about the DC motor they need

Unfortunately, the answer is removal of the magnet is not a simple thing. They are epoxied into place, and to remove the epoxy bond would require heating to a temperature that would demagnetize the magnets.

Did you try Harold Zimmerman for a replacement? http://www.myelec-traks.com/harold.pdf He should have a complete motor, or possibly even the shell.

I took a look at my parts, and all I have are some E8 motors. If you find that you can't get anywhere locating an E10 motor, the E8 would work (it is the same size) but would be less powerful than the E10 version.
